The Art of Embroidery in Palestine, Practices, Skills, Knowledge and Rituals
The traditional embroidery in Palestine is an art spread throughout Palestine, where the traditional costume of women in Palestine consists of a long dress, trousers, a jacket, a headdress, and a veil, and it is embroidered with drawings of birds, trees and flowers. Girls inherit this practice from their mothers, or during training courses where the craft provides additional income for the family.
The Art of Embroidery in Palestine, Practices, Skills, Knowledge and Rituals was inscribed in 2021 on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in Palestine.
