Zwila

Zwila, Zuila, or Zweila, is a village in southwestern Libya. It's one of the oldest inhabited places in Libya. It had already trade relations with Egypt, and with the Sudan region. It was conquered by Uqba ibn Nafi in 643 AD, showing an evidence that Islam reached Fezzan early. The Fatimid Caliph Ubayd Allah Al-Mahdi made it a residence place for his people.
