Tassili n'Ajjer is a mountain range in the Algerian section of the Sahara Desert. The range is noted for its prehistoric rock art and other ancient archaeological sites, dating from the Neolithic Age. The prehistoric inscriptions and cave art in Tassili n'Ajjer considered one of the most important sites in the world, and the site was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982.
