    They are a group of archaeological sites spread throughout in Sirmilik National Park and Tallurutiup Imanga marine area located in the province of Nunavut, Canada, which are closely linked to the culture and heritage of the Inuit people, the indigenous people of the Arctic regions. The name of the park, which means "place of glaciers" reflects the extent of the indigenous people’s connection to the land, as the Inuit people used this area for hunting, fishing, and transportation over generations, making it a historical example of human activity in that region, and of the permanent relationship of the Inuit with the Arctic environment.     The site is one of the elements included in the UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage designation, Sirmilik National Park and Tallurutiup Imanga National Marine Conservation Area.
