Maktar or Makthar is a Roman-Berber site in Siliana Governorate, Tunisia. The ancient town was founded by the Numidians as a defense post against the Carthaginians in the 3rd century BC. Among the ruins there are several pre-Roman structures, the Roman forum, the arch of Trajan and the thermal baths.
The site is one of the elements included in the UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage designation, The Royal Mausoleums of Numidia, Mauretania and pre-Islamic funerary monuments.
