    Kouroukan Fouga is a historical site located in the Koulikoro region of Mali. The site is the place where a group of wise men, nobles, and tribal leaders drafted the constitution for the Mali Empire, which was created in the aftermath of the Battle of Kirina around 1235 AD. The Battle of Kirina is a historical battle that took place between the Sosso Empire, led by King Sumaoro Kante, and the prince and founder of the Mali Empire, Sundiata Keita. The battle ended with the victory of Sundiata Keita's forces and the emergence of the power of the Mali Empire in Africa. The memorial site is currently located in the town of Kangaba.
    The site is one of the elements included in the UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage designation, The Mandé Historic Sites and Cultural Landscapes.
