Deir Mar Maroun, also known as Monastery of Mar Maroun, Cave of the monks, is an ancient Maronite monastery located inside a cave and carved in the rock in the south of Hermel in the Baalbek-Hermel Governorate, Lebanon. The monastery is dating back to the Roman times in the 2nd century AD, and it later became the residence of Saint Maron and his early followers in the 4th century, during the foundation of the Maronite Church.
