Mosque of the Companions is a historic mosque located in the city of Massawa, Eritrea. It was built in the 7th century AD by Sahabah (companions of the Prophet Muhammad) who came here during their migration to Abyssinia. The mosque is believed to be the first mosque on the African continent.
