Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate is a historic Roman Catholic basilica located in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. It was built between 1876 AD and 1888 AD on a hilltop allocated by John Galt when he founded Guelph in 1827, as a tribute to his friend, Bishop Alexander Macdonell, who had advised him in forming the Canada Company. The road leading to the basilica, Macdonell Street, was named in the Bishop's honor. The basilica was constructed in the Gothic Revival style, featuring intricate decorative carvings and stunning stained glass created by skilled craftsmen.
