    Al-Azlam Fort is one of the stations on the Egyptian Hajj Road during the Mamluk and Ottoman periods. It dates back to the 14th century AD and was restored several times in later times.
    The site is one of the elements included in the UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage designation, Egyptian Hajj Road.
