Editor Application Terms and Requirements
Please review the following requirements before submitting an application. Applying does not guarantee acceptance as an Archiqoo Editor.
- Eligibility: The Editor role is intended for applicants with verifiable academic, professional, research, fieldwork, publication, or comparable experience related to archaeology, history, cultural heritage, anthropology, geography/GIS, museum studies, conservation, or a closely related field.
- Credential verification: Archiqoo may review the documents, public profiles, publications, institutional pages, portfolios, and other information submitted with your application to assess your qualifications. Additional information or clarification may be requested when reasonably necessary.
- Accuracy of information: Information and credentials submitted with your application must be truthful, accurate, and reasonably verifiable. Materially false, misleading, altered, or fraudulent information may result in rejection of the application or later suspension or removal of editor access.
- Application review: Submission of an application does not create a right to become an Editor and does not guarantee approval. Archiqoo may approve or decline an application after reviewing the applicant's qualifications, submitted materials, and suitability for the editorial role.
- Application documents and privacy: Information submitted through this application, including your CV, supporting documents, professional links, and application details, will be used for evaluating and administering your Editor application and, if approved, your participation as an Editor. Application documents are not intended for public display unless specifically stated otherwise.
- Limit unnecessary personal information: Please do not include information that is not reasonably necessary for verifying your qualifications, such as Social Insurance Numbers, banking information, passwords, medical information, or unrelated government identification numbers. Sensitive details contained in supporting documents may be redacted where they are not needed for verification.
- Storage and access: Application information and documents will be accessible only to authorized persons involved in reviewing or administering Editor applications and will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes and applicable record-keeping requirements.
- Voluntary and non-compensated participation: The Archiqoo Editor role is intended as a voluntary, non-compensated academic and heritage contribution. No salary, wage, fee, honorarium, commission, or other compensation is offered for participation.
- Independent participation: Editors may choose whether, when, and how often they contribute. Archiqoo does not guarantee any minimum amount of editorial activity, assignments, working hours, or duration of participation.
- Contributor responsibility: Applicants and Editors are responsible for ensuring that their participation is permitted under any university, employer, institutional, funding, professional, or other policies that may apply to them.
- Editorial access: Approved Editors may create and edit temporary and manual site entries and may submit articles or other supported editorial content for review. Public publishing remains subject to Archiqoo's administrative and editorial review process.
- Content standards: Contributions must be original, accurate, appropriately referenced, and based on reliable academic, professional, governmental, or institutional sources where appropriate. Editors must not knowingly submit plagiarized, unlawfully copied, confidential, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful material.
- Third-party rights: Editors are responsible for ensuring that text, images, data, and other materials they submit may lawfully be used or are appropriately attributed, licensed, or otherwise permitted for use.
- Editorial review: Archiqoo may review, correct, format, refine, decline, unpublish, or remove submitted content when reasonably necessary to maintain accuracy, academic quality, consistency, legal compliance, security, or editorial standards.
- Public attribution: If your application is approved, the display name and short biography associated with your Editor profile may appear publicly on Archiqoo's Contributors page. Your name may also appear with approved published contributions, including as the Original Page Creator where applicable.
- No institutional endorsement: An Editor's participation is personal. Listing an academic institution, employer, archaeological mission, museum, organization, or other affiliation does not imply that the institution or organization endorses, sponsors, represents, or is formally associated with Archiqoo.
- Editor access: Archiqoo may suspend or revoke Editor privileges where reasonably necessary because of false credentials, misuse of the platform, security concerns, serious or repeated violations of editorial standards, or other conduct incompatible with the Editor role.
