Moroccan Caftan: Art, Traditions and Skills
The Moroccan caftan is a traditional long garment worn by people of different ages and genders during special occasions and celebrations. It is known for its central opening, decorative buttons, elegant fabrics, and rich handmade ornamentation, often including embroidery, beads, braids, and sequins.
The caftan may be worn with or without a decorative belt, and its styles reflect Morocco’s diverse cultural influences. It is especially present at weddings, religious celebrations, coming-of-age ceremonies, festivals, and other important social events.
